Playing A Prank On The Office
Everyone loves a good practical job, especially at an office when days can seem to string together and be extremely boring. Once you have worked at a company for a while and are comfortable with the people you work with, playing an occasional office prank can be extremely fun and entertaining. Pranks give everyone at the office a chance to relax and even bond, in a nonprofessional setting. They also provide a good way to get back at people who might bother you, in a good fun way. Here is a list of some of the best office pranks around:
1. When a boss, or other employee, is out sick for over three days, pour watercress seeds or lettuce seeds on the carpet of the office. The seeds should germinate on the rug and when the person comes back from being sick, there should be plants growing on their rug.
2. Tell a co-worker that a daily talk show called about your friend and said that someone from their past wants to confront them or reunite on the show. Tell them that the show would not give you any more information and they will be wondering who wants to confront them all day!
3. Collect all the white holes that the hole punches create over about a week of time. Then place them above the visor of a colleague’s car. When the colleague decided to use the visor to shield the sun, they will be covered with a paper blizzard.
4. Tell your friend at work that the new person is deaf in one ear. They will spend the whole day shouting at the new guy with everyone watching.
5. Change the caller ID on your boss’s phone to stay “Betty Boop” every time someone calls him. This will be very embarrassing for your boss, especially if there are other people in his or her office.
6. Put random objects from your friend’s at works desk in the vending machine, and then ask them to go grab you a soda. The will be very surprised at what they will find
7. Put a hermit crab inside of an IV bag if you work in a hospital. It will provide hours of entertainment, especially on days with long shifts.
8. Photocopy images of you backside on your company’s photocopying machine. Then put the copies back in the machine. Your backside will be the background to everyone’s copies for the next few days.
- When your boss leaves for lunch, lock all the doors and put the closed sign in the window.
- Place a box of rubber toffee in your office’s lunchroom. Spend the rest of the day watching your co-workers try to take bits out of the fake candy.
11. Cover your boss’s office in aluminum foil. Cover everything from the chairs, to the computer desks, to the computer wires.
12. Place a tight layer of plastic cling wrap over the toilet seat. Then your coworker goes to the bathroom they will certainly be surprised.
13. Change the “Autocorrect” function on your coworker’s Microsoft Word to change the user’s last name to “birdy num-nums”.
- Put food coloring in your coworker’s coffee when they go to the bathroom. When they get back to their coffee, you will notice their new, brightly colored mouth.
15. Everyday for a week, empty a coworkers stapler. They will be very upset that they will have to refill their stapler everyday.
16. Hook all the paperclips together in your office. When someone tries to pull out one staple, they will get them all.
17. Turn back all the clocks in the office by one hour. It will make everyone’s day seem much longer. They will also show up at meetings early and wonder what went wrong.
18. Wallpaper someone’s entire cubical with headshots of their co-workers.
19. Sneak onto a co-workers email account and send out a love note to everyone in the office.
20. Superglue the pen caps onto all of your co-workers pens. They will be extremely frustrating when it comes time to write something down.
21. Fill all of the toilets with dishwashing soap. Then sit back and watch each co-worker flip out at the surprise when they flush.
Although office pranks can be fun, there are some risks to pulling a prank. There must be a sense of camaraderie and light-heartedness within the office. If the setting is too corporate and jokes are not usually mad, it might not be appropriate to pull an office prank.
