Creating A False Identity
Have you ever wanted to pretend you were someone you weren’t but didn’t know how to go about it or how to make it look real? Creating a false identity can seem challenging, but is actually not as hard as it appears. Although this is not an ethical practice, it would be entertaining to see if you could pull the fake identity off, at least for a short period of time. Also, many people create false identities with out malicious intentions. One reason a person might want to create a false identity is that they do not want to release their real person information when shopping online and filling out forms. For many of these services, it is as easy as creating a fake name and email address. Some forms are “smarter” than this and can tell when an email address is not valid. In an instance like this, a person would have to create an email account on one of the many free email services, and use this account to accept Spam or junk mail. Another reason to create a false identity would be to fool a date or acquaintance. If a person you are meeting does not seem to be extremely trust-worthy, creating a false identity gives a person a sense of safety. Sometimes people also create false identities to play a joke on someone. For example, if you had an identical twin, if would be somewhat easy to fake your identity a play some practical joke on teachers or coaches. Another place you could create a false identity would be if you were take a test, such as the SATs or GMATs. In this situation a person could pretend to be the person they were taking the test for. Usually when taking tests that are so competitive, a license is required. This does cause a slight problem, but it is easy to overcome. Fake IDs can be made to look very real and the people checking the IDs are not trained to spot fake IDs. You could also use the other person license if you resemble each other and if the photo on the license is somewhat older.
While creating a false identity can be fun and sometimes practical, there are several precautions that must be taken into consideration, especially in more serious situations such as tests. When creating an identity it is important to create information that won’t be hard to forget. For example, never choose names that are extremely long or hard to spell. Also, pick birth dates that are important dates to you, so that you will have less of a chance to get confused and forget the date. Some examples of dates that are easy to remember are: your child’s birthday, your wedding anniversary, or your favorite holiday. Another precaution to take is to remember that there are sometimes harsh penalties to creating a false identity. It is important to not create a fake identity in Governmental situations or in educational cases where the penalty could be expulsion. If you think creating your own false identity is too challenging, there are many online programs that can create false identities for you, and give you copies of important documents such as birth certificates, drives licenses, and social security cards. Some of these programs are free, while the more extensive programs cost a lot of money.
Creating a false identity can be a fun and necessary thing to do, especially when you feel that your safety maybe concerned, such as a date gown bad. However, sometimes faking an identity can be dangerous and even illegal. Creating a false identity to get credit cards or purchase things under another persons name is extremely illegal. There are many identity theft cases throughout the world and because of the increase in the amount of cases; the Government has become much stricter when choosing the punishments for people responsible for identity theft. Creating a fake identity to create a factious business is also extremely illegal. There are many fraudulent companies that scam people into giving the company money everyday. Some of these companies claim to provide a service that does not exist, other claim that you have won a prize, when really you have not.
While creating a false identity can be fun if used in harmless settings, using a false identity to create harmful situations is extremely illegal and is not tolerated in today’s society. The penalties for identity theft are several and expensive, so it is important to only create an identity for light jokes.
